About  Layered with Love

I’m Nrupali, the founder and owner of Layered with Love.

 

I've always loved food for as long as I can remember. Any food to be honest

(I haven’t been picky!) but the one thing that makes me weak at the knees is anything sweet. I was always the one eyeing up any sweet snack in sight and even trying to sneak a quick taste of other people birthday cakes before they had been cut (yes, I’m ashamed to say I have photos to support this!).

 

My love of food continued through my school years and it was during this time I made my first ever cupcakes, Snickers cupcakes, the whole family demolished them and that’s when I realised just how satisfying it was to bake for other people and bring joy to them.

 

As time went on I started trialling more recipes and baking various items, some delicious like red velvet cakes or brownies and some not so great like a strawberry cheesecake (that had with blobs of gelatine floating in it - it’s safe to say I didn’t attempt that recipe again!!).

 

Over time my love for baking grew stronger, I would spend hours and hours trying new recipes and adjusting them to make new creations. My family (who have been my official cake tasters and critics from day one) would try each recipe and give me feedback to help me perfect them. After I perfected my recipes I was hungry for more (cake obviously!).

 

That’s when I was introduced to the world of cake decorating. And boy am I happy I stumbled across this! There is so much to learn and experiment with when it comes to cake decorating. I realised this was my passion, I could create happiness in such a unique form.

 

This is when Layered with Love was born.
